No description found

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Ray Cisneros, Jr, 24, has been arrested in connection with the robbery of a taxi driver on the Northwest side in September as the result of a tip San Antonio police received through Crime Stoppers.

An arrest warrant affidavit stated that the cabbie reported the crime early on the morning of Sept. 30, telling police that a man who had been a passenger in his vehicle held a knife to his throat and demanded his money.

The affidavit stated that the robbery happened after the cabbie drove the man and a woman to a location on the Northwest side, near Pipers Swan and Pipers Lane.

He told police the couple got out of the cab without paying, then the man pulled out a knife and held it to his neck.  The affidavit stated that the cabbie was able to push the man’s hand away and drive off, uninjured.

Police said they obtained surveillance video, which they distributed to local news media outlets.

As a result of that, they received a Crime Stoppers tip earlier this month from someone who identified Cisneros as the robber, the affidavit stated.

Cisneros was arrested Tuesday on a charge of aggravated robbery.
