SAN ANTONIO – The decision to answer an early morning knock on the door was a deadly one for a San Antonio woman.
Police said a man went to Carolyn Grant's home on Rancho Blanco Boulevard on June 11, 1993.
"(He) knocked on the victim's door at approximately 5:12 a.m. and asked for the victim by name. The victim came to the door and was shot by the suspect," police said.

In 2012, Grant's daughter -- just 9 years old when her mother was killed in their home -- asked police to take another look at the case .
