What to know about unsolved murder of Kylie Warren

SAN ANTONIO – Kylie Warren was fatally shot Oct. 23, 2016, in the kitchen of a home in the 8100 block of Chestnut Barr in Northeast Bexar County.

FAST FACTS:

  • Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar called the murder “particularly vicious.”

  • Warren’s husband, John Andrew Garza, was indicted on suspicion of shooting Warren, but the case was dismissed.

“Kylie was a vibrant person. She was just such a fun person to raise. We had so many special moments," said Cherin Ehlke, Kylie Warren's mother.

  • Warren had a protective order against Garza, who was considered a person of interest in a domestic violence case. Read more on that story here.
  • Warren was the victim of repeated family violence and stalking, according to BCSO officials.

“Kylie was a loving mother and leaves behind three beautiful daughters," Ehlke said.

  • Warren had been out with friends the night before her murder.

“My daughter was everything to me and if was your daughter how would you feel? What would you do? I need for you to come forward and give information. The $10,000 is there in cash to give you. I’m begging you to please help me," Ehlke said.

Mother outraged, BCSO investigators surprised by murder case dismissal

“I don’t see myself ever getting over this. I don’t care how long it takes. I will never stop fighting," Ehlke said.
