QuikTrip debuts first store in San Antonio with plans to expand across area

More than 20 San Antonio area sites in development

SAN ANTONIO – A popular North Texas convenience store and gasoline marketer is moving south and set to open the first of many locations in the San Antonio area.

QuikTrip is opening its first store Thursday in the 7500 block of N. Loop 1604 East in Live Oak.

The company has nearly 150 stores in the Dallas-Fort Worth market, but has 22 San Antonio area sites in development with other stores currently under construction in Leon Valley and Kirby, expected to open this year, according to a company press release.

The release also said QuikTrip has created unique menu items exclusively for San Antonio stores, including tacos, barbecue sandwiches and kolaches.

The company was founded in 1958 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and expanded into Texas in 1999.

People interested in employment with the company can visit its website.

QuikTrip is also a designated Safe Place where runaways and at-risk youth can enter off the street and receive food and drink.

According to the company’s website, they can wait for a volunteer from a Safe Place agency partner to connect them with professional help or a place to stay until their situation is resolved.
