ME identifies 16-year-old fatally shot at Kirby basketball court

SAN ANTONIO – The Medical Examiner's Office identified a 16-year-old fatally shot during a fight at a Kirby basketball court as Favian Orlando Ramirez.

Ramirez was pronounced dead at a local hospital after another teenager shot him at a Kirby park on Friday.

Authorities said several teens were hanging out at the John H. Sterling Memorial Park around 2:15 p.m. Friday after Judson ISD's early release day when the 16-year-old and the suspect got into an argument. 

Police said the gunman shot Ramirez in the chest and ran from the scene. Ramirez was taken to an area hospital where he died.
