The second week of the 2021 high school volleyball season ratchets up the intensity. Carlee Pharris and the Brandeis Broncos rolled past Antonian in front of a raucous home crowd, while Clark, Churchill and Edison all earn impressive sweeps over Harlan, Taft and Southside respectively.

Four-year starter Aiden Inesta-Rodriguez was first-team All-District on offense and defense in District 28-6A last season, and the 5'7" star is hoping to prove that size doesn't matter in the defensive backfield.

SAN ANTONIO – The Brandeis Broncos and Clark Cougars volleyball programs met in the season opener Saturday at Northside Gym. The Broncos swept the Cougars in the best-of-five series with scores of 25-22, 31-29 and 25-18. TCU commit and junior Brandeis outside hitter, Jalyn Gibson, led all hitters with 20 kills while senior defensive specialist, Amy DeWalt, who will be attending Midwestern State in the fall, contributed 32 digs. The victory snaps Clark’s 47-match district winning streak. Brandeis is away at Boerne Champion Tuesday while Clark will face Johnson at Littleton Gym Tuesday.

SAN ANTONIO – As they return to campus for organized strength and conditioning workouts, the Brandeis Broncos realize that they can’t take any opportunity to train for granted, and the players and coaching staff remain cautiously optimistic regarding the upcoming football season. SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Big Game in our Big Game Coverage in week 7 of the high school football season features the second-ranked team in the area - the undefeated O’Connor Panthers - squaring off against the fifth-ranked Brandeis Broncos, whose only loss this season came against Brennan two weeks ago. ”They are 4-1 and we are 5-0,” said senior O’Connor offensive lineman Brannon Brown. ”Let’s go at it and see who the better team is, just straight up,” said Panthers talented junior quarterback David Dodd. ”They have a really good team, but we have a really good team as well. “They are a really good football team,” said Brandeis head football coach David Branscom.
