The City of San Antonio filed an exemption request for the pride district’s rainbow crosswalks after Gov. Greg Abbott’s order to remove “any and all political ideologies” from Texas streets.

The City of San Antonio is planning on filing an exception to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s order, and the LGBTQ+ Advisory Board will be submitting a resolution to the mayor and city council to “reaffirm their support.”

A community forum was held Thursday night in the Pride district to talk about LGBTQ+ protections.

San Antonio’s Rainbow Crosswalk, which is painted at the intersection of Main Avenue and Evergreen Street, received a paint makeover after being damaged in January.
