SAPD: Shooter Remains At Large

SAN ANTONIO – A double shooting at an apartment complex left one man dead and another man in the hospital, police said.

Police said shots were fired around 9 p.m. Sunday at the Amberton Apartments in the 6000 block of Randolph Boulevard.

According to police, two men went to the apartment to collect money for a video game console, but that led to a disagreement.

"The suspect and our victim began to argue. They began to struggle and then at some point, the suspect produced a weapon and shot both our victims," Sgt. Chris Benavides said.

Joshua David Amana, 27, was shot once in the head and once in the collar bone, Benavides said.

A second man was shot in the shoulder and killed. The man who was fatally shot was found lying in the middle of the living room, Benavides said. His name has not been released.

Police said the man who died was trying to break up a fight when he was shot in the shoulder.

"He saw the victim, our second victim and our suspects arguing, having that struggle, so he intervened trying to help our victim, and as a result, he's dead," Benavides said.

Police said a woman who was inside the apartment witnessed the shooting, but she was not injured. She identified one of the suspects.

Both face murder charges.

Police have not made any arrests.
