Fire destroys Helotes building housing church, gym

HELOTES, Texas – A building that houses a church and a CrossFit gym in Helotes has gone up in flames.  

Helotes firefighters responded to the fire around 2:15 a.m. Tuesday, and found the building in the 14700 block of Old Bandera Road engulfed in flames.

The building, which houses Calvary New Life Church and CrossFit Bandera Road, is located in the Old Town section of Helotes just down the street from Floore Country Store.

Firefighters said the gym and the church were destroyed.

As of 7 a.m., firefighters had not determined a cause or origin.

No injuries were reported.
