Gunfire erupts after man tries to rob pair during sale of necklace, police say

Shooting was reported just after 10 p.m. in the 9100 block of Bridlewood

SAN ANTONIO – A man and a woman attempting to sell a necklace were hospitalized after they were both wounded during a robbery attempt overnight, San Antonio police said Friday.

The shooting was reported just after 10 p.m. in the 9100 block of Bridlewood.

According to police, the man and the woman had agreed to meet up with the suspect to sell him a necklace.

Police said the suspect attempted to rob the pair and pulled out a handgun, shooting both in the leg. The man and the woman however used their own guns to return fire.

The suspect ran from the scene only to accidently shoot himself in the foot during the escape, police said. Authorities later found the suspect when he turned up at University Hospital for his injury.

So far no arrests have been made in the case. The investigation into the shooting is on-going.
