A voluntary recall is being issued for select cases of Skippy Peanut Butter products due to possible contamination from steel fragments.
The company issued the recall on Wednesday for roughly 9,300 cases, or 161,692 total pounds, of Skippy products.

Products affected include Skippy Reduced Fat Creamy Peanut Butter Spread, Skippy Reduced Fat Chunky Peanut Butter Spread and Skippy Creamy Peanut Butter Blended With Plant Protein.
“A limited number of jars may contain a small fragment of stainless steel from a piece of manufacturing equipment,” the company said in a press release.
Skippy says consumers should use the code date on the top of the lid to determine if their product is part of the recall.

The company said no consumer complaints have been reported due to the recall and that all retailers who received the product have been notified.
No other sizes, varieties, or other packaging configurations of Skippy brand peanut butter or peanut butter spreads have been affected.
