Desfile de los Texas Cavaliers: tradición y color en San Antonio Más de 40 barcasas llenan el Paseo Del Rio
SAN ANTONIO – La idea del primer desfile en el Paseo Del Rio comenzo con un viaje a la ciudad de Mexico y las trajineras de Xochimilco. Un grupo de hombres llamados Texas Cavaliers decidieron traer esta colorida idea a San Antonio. Esta tradicion comenzo con una flota de 12 barcasas, las cuales fueron cuidadosamente decoradas y en 1941 se llevo acabo el primer desfile actualmente conocido como Texas Cavaliers River Parade.
Desde ese entonces y hasta hoy, cientos de miles de personas visitan el paseo del río cada año para presenciar este colorido desfile. Hoy en dia este espectaculo cuenta con mas de 40 barcasas y con esto ,continua la tradicion de seguir apoyando a organizaciones enfocados en la educacion infantil.
