Two people rescued from vehicle after crashing into tree

SAN ANTONIO – Two people were taken to the hospital after the driver of the truck crashed into a tree Friday night. 

According to San Antonio police, the driver of a Dodge pickup truck lost control near Loop 1604 and Quitana Road and crashed into a tree.

Police said speed played a role in the crash.

The driver and a passenger were trapped inside the truck for about an hour before being rescued, police said.

They were both taken to University Hospital; one was transported by ambulance, the other by helicopter.
