Police seek information in 2009 murder of 17-year-old man
SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are working on getting justice for a 17-year-old who was shot and killed back in 2009. Someone inside the second vehicle then pulled out a shotgun and fired once, hitting and killing Deleon. So far, all police know about the suspect vehicle is that it was someone in a white Nissan Frontier pickup truck. Crime Stoppers may pay up to $5,000 for tips that lead to an arrest. Man wields handgun, robs SE Side gas station, police say
SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are searching for a suspect who brandished a handgun and robbed a Southeast Side gas station late Thursday night. The incident occurred around 10 p.m. at a gas station in the 400 block of Fair Avenue, not far from South Hackberry Street and Highway 281. According to police, the suspect entered the store and pointed a handgun at the cashier, just before demanding money. The suspect took the money and fled eastbound on foot, police said. SAPD used their Eagle helicopter to search for the suspect, but were unable to locate them.
Fuel spill shuts down lanes of I-37 near S. New Braunfels Ave.
SAN ANTONIO - A fuel spill shut down the northbound lanes of I-37 near South New Braunfels Avenue early Monday morning. According to the San Antonio Fire Department, a truck "bottomed out" and spilled the oil just before 6 a.m. The truck that spilled the oil eventually stopped near Fair Avenue, but traffic is backed up as a result of the spill. The onramp at South New Braunfels is shut down and police are keeping cars out of the right lane of the highway. Stay with KSAT 12 both online and on-air for more information.
2 charged with capital murder in shooting death of 77-year-old man
SAN ANTONIO - Two men were arrested Sunday on capital murder charges in connection with the shooting death of a 77-year-old man, police said. Manuel Martinez III, 25, and Rene Garcia, 24, are both facing capital murder charges in the death of Jose Rodriguez. Garcia and Martinez ran west on Fair Avenue after shooting Rodriguez, an arrest affidavit states. Shortly after the shooting, police released photos from gas station surveillance video, which showed the two men approaching Rodriguez's vehicle. From there, police looked into any Mazda vehicles that had been recently stopped by police and found a Mazda matching the description of the vehicle seen in home surveillance video.
77-year old man dies after being shot in face at San Antonio gas station
SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio police are trying to figure out why a 77-year-old man was shot and killed at a South Side gas station. They found the victim gravely wounded near his SUV, parked at a gas pump, in the 400 block of Fair Avenue. A sergeant who responded to the call told KSAT 12 News that the motive for the shooting was not clear. He said two men walked up to the victim and, without much discussion, shot him in the face. The sergeant said the shooters did not make any attempt to take anything from the victim or his vehicle.
