Investigators said the motorcyclist, identified as Daniel Santiago, died at the scene on the access road of Loop 410 near Evers Road around 9:30 p.m.Santiago was riding his 2004 Kawasaki ZX1000-C (Ninja) westbound on the access road when he approached the Evers Road intersection, which had a line of cars in the center lane. Police said the line of cars was past a steep crest of a hill. Santiago was traveling behind two Mustangs that narrowly avoided hitting the last car in the line, which was a red 2017 Subaru WRX. Police said Santiago’s girlfriend was at the scene to notify the next of kin, who then arrived at the scene.

McDaniel fumbled the ball to the Bobcats early in the fourth but Texas State turned it back over two plays later with a fumble.

In the nonconference matchup against Lone Star Conference foe MSU Texas, the Rattlers held an advantage in shots taken, outshooting the Mustangs 10-7. Both teams put three shots on goal but St. Mary's Jacob Sayle had a stellar performance denying each shot. The Rattlers struck early as Cain Smith buried one just inside the post off an Edu Toiny-Pendred cross to put St. Mary's up 1-0 in the ninth minute. St. Mary's defense kept the Mustangs off the scoreboard to take a 1-0 lead into the locker room.
