Update:South San Antonio ISD officials said that its internet services was restored around 10:30 a.m., though are unsure still what caused the connectivity issues. Because teachers use a variety of apps, they were able to stay connected to families despite the connectivity issues. Internet is now working at South San Antonio ISD after issues Tuesday, officials say
SAN ANTONIO – UPDATE: The South San Antonio Independent School District is back online after experiencing technical difficulties Tuesday morning. Officials said Monday via Facebook and Twitter that the internet is down for the district. “Our internet was down this morning. It’s working now,” said district spokesperson Jennifer Collier. “Our teachers were able to keep in contact with students and parents through apps,” said Collier who also noted that each school uses different apps to keep in touch with students.

On an average school day, about 94 percent of the 840 Harlandale Middle School students will show up for class. While these efforts are paying off, the students who remain out of touch were already the hardest to reach under normal circumstances, educators say.
