Killer whale dies at SeaWorld San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO – SeaWorld San Antonio announced Monday that a killer whale died after several months of medical treatment.

The whale, Unna, suffered from a resistant strain of fungus called Candida.

The park said the disease is found in wild cetaceans, and that Unna has been under constant treatment.  

The park did cancel all scheduled killer whale shows on Monday. A necropsy will be performed to determine the ultimate cause of her death.
