Arrest made in month-old murder case

SAN ANTONIO – Carlos De Los Reyes, 44, was arrested and charged with murder in the shooting death of Arturo Gutierrez.

The shooting happened on Jan. 5 outside a Good Mart in the 1500 block of Castroville Road.

According to an arrest affidavit, De Los Reyes shot Gutierrez multiple times. Gutierrez was rushed to the hospital but died of his wounds.

Gutierrez's family say Arturo was at the wrong place at the wrong time.

"It was a mistake. It wasn't for him. It was for the other guy that was with him but he just came out of the car and started shooting he (was the) first guy that was right there in front of him," said Gutierrez's brother, Marcelo.

De Los Reyes is being held at the Bexar County jail. He is being charged with murder.
