19 students, 2 teachers were killed at Robb Elementary School

UVALDE, Texas – The scene in Uvalde following a mass shooting at an elementary school is still being processed and is requiring a lot of resources, including those from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

The department has been active in assisting law enforcement agencies since the shooting happened at Robb Elementary on Tuesday, as well as helping families affected by the tragedy.

The BCSO has played a vital and difficult role, helping the families of the deceased children.

Five deputies and a sergeant were sent to the area and are helping with the processing of the extensive crime scene.

Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said the deputies will also be going door to door, asking if anyone has any video of the incident.

The sheriff’s office has three chaplains, two of which were sent to Uvalde. One is presently tending to the wounded at the hospitals in San Antonio.

Salazar said they will also be increasing the law enforcement presence around schools in the area until each school finishes off their last week.
