Suspect who stole $400 in BBQ, large iron brands caught on camera

Chef Jason Dady says thief took ribs, iron brands from Two Bros. BBQ

SAN ANTONIO – An alleged barbecue thief was caught on camera and the owners at Two Bros. BBQ Market are hoping the public will help identify him.

The man captured in the photos is accused of stealing an estimated $400 in brisket and ribs from the market on West Avenue.

"We know exactly what's on the pit at all times, how much meat we're smoking, we know where everything is. So I opened up the pits and I was immediately like, Oh well we're missing some products," said pit master Laura Loomis.

The thief also took 26 large iron brands, one for each letter of the alphabet.

"We see a guy carrying an arm full of our branding irons through the back gate and that's really our biggest concern right now," said Loomis.

Loomis believes the thief knew the restaurant well.

"He had his face covered with a towel. So he obviously knew that we had cameras and it's not uncommon for us to give tours of the pit room and for people to kind of scope it out," Loomis said.

Loomis says they have filed a police report and are now asking the public to help put the man in the video behind bars.

"Give us a call, email us, come in and let us know and like I said we'll reward you with some great BBQ," Loomis said.

Chef Jason Dady also posted surveillance pictures on Facebook and Instagram on Wednesday with a caption that read, "If you know this clown please give us a holler." Dady's full post below.
