Alamo Heights, Clemens cheerleading squads place 1st in UIL state competitions
SAN ANTONIO โ Two San Antonio schools can boast state champion cheerleading squads. The cheerleaders at Clemens High School in the Schertz Cibolo Universal City School District are the best in the state for 6A DII, while the Alamo Heights cheer squad dominated 5A DII. โI truly believe all was achieved this past weekend.โThe Alamo Heights squad will compete in the national championships in Orlando next month. SAN ANTONIO โ Friday Night Lights for Clemens and Steele high schools is more than just a football game. Texas is known for its tremendous talent with high school football and Steele and Clemens take rivalry to the next level. "If it wasn't for this football program, I probably wouldn't be where I am right now," said Quinton Mayberry, a senior defensive end at Clemens High School. "Friday night is a very special night for the Steele Knights," said Peter Sele, a offensive guard at Steele High School.
