In the five months that Jennifer Anne Hall was a respiratory therapist at Hedrick Medical Center, the rural Missouri hospital experienced 18 “code blue” incidents — an alarming increase in sudden cardiac arrest events for a hospital that historically averaged one of them a year, according to a police investigator. Twenty years later, Hall was charged this month with first-degree murder in one of the deaths — that of 75-year-old Fern Franco. Livingston County Prosecuting Attorney Adam Warren, who launched an investigation 10 years ago, said Franco died of lethal doses of succinylcholine — a relaxant that paralyzes the respiratory muscles — and the pain reliever morphine.

O'Connor, a retired Army colonel, was Biden's doctor during his entire tenure as vice president, having remained in the role at Biden's request. The White House said O'Connor was being commissioned by the president but was not rejoining the military. He is the first non-active duty doctor to serve as physician to the president in almost three decades. Then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows said at the time that Trump's condition was worse than Conley had let on.

HS Volleyball: O'Connor reloading for another state run

HELOTES - If the road to state in 2017 was a fairy tale, O'Connor's return in 2018 was an affirmation. Judging by the team's performance early in the season, the Panthers haven't lost a step. On opening night, O'Connor hosted another Class 6A powerhouse, Canyon, and looked strong in a convincing sweep of the Cougarettes. Following that victory, O'Connor packed up and traveled to Pearland, where they played nine matches over a three day span. They'll then return home to host Reagan in a rematch of last year's Bi-District round on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
