The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) announced multiple closures on Interstate 35 southbound and the main lanes of Loop 1604 throughout Halloween weekend.

The main lanes of Interstate 35 northbound where Loop 1604 intersects is where one of two closures will impact travelers this weekend.

The closure will begin 8 p.m. Friday, and run through 6 a.m. Saturday, subject to weather.

Multiple night closures have been scheduled starting Thursday as part of the Interstate 35 Northeast Expansion Project, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

A closure is scheduled Monday night through Tuesday morning on part of Interstate 35 in Live Oak, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

As part of the Interstate 35 Northeast Expansion (NEX) project, TxDOT has planned multiple closures this weekend to install steel girders.

Construction will ramp up on the Northeast Side this weekend, impacting drivers around Live Oak, Retama Park and Universal City.
