For patrons, the Lone Star Brewery isn’t just an abandoned structure. It’s tied to memories from when beer was still brewing inside the facility.

Southstar, a New Braunfels-based real estate development firm, announced Friday that it has purchased the historic Lone Star Brewery site in San Antonio.

An exhibit at the San Antonio Museum of Art is combining art, history and beer.

Multiple entities are exploring several sites, including one group interested in downtown acreage along the redeveloped San Pedro Creek that could involve Weston Urban.

City officials had put their support behind a plan to bring major development to the 32-acre site.
