How to help victims of the Texas church shooting

SUTHERLAND SPRINGS, Texas – In wake of the Sutherland Springs church shooting, many are wondering how they can help those affected by the horrific shooting.

Wilson County District Attorney Audrey Louis said canned food and bottled water are not needed. Instead, Louis stressed a need for monetary donations and blood donations.

Make a monetary donation

You can donate on H-E-B's website. The Texas grocer said 100 percent of donations will go to the victims of the Sutherland Springs shooting. Additionally, the company announced it will donate $150,000 to victims. H-E-B also announced a donation campaign that allows customers to donate at any check out station.

Donate blood

You can donate blood through the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center. Those interested in donating blood can call (210) 731-5590 to make an appointment or find a donation location on the STBTC website.

Attend a fundraiser

Smokin' Angels BBQ Ministry is hosting a barbecue fundraiser on Saturday.
"We will be selling pulled pork barbecue sandwiches, chips, Coleslaw and a drink for $10.00. 
100% of money raised will go directly to the victims and their families. All donations will be handled through St. Mark Lutheran Church"

Living Waters Church is hosting a barbecue fundraiser on Sunday. 
"We will be selling mesquite grilled burger plates (includes chips and drink) for $6 to benefit the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs. We will set up in the parking lot of the Wilson County Courthouse... 100% of the proceeds will be going to the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs."
