Lake Dunlap is full again; but now downstream neighbors say theyโve been hung out to dry
Since the lake was filled and hydroelectric operations were put back in service on Oct. 31, people immediately downstream from the dam say the water level of their section of river, which is largely bypassed by a canal for hydroelectric power, has started drying up.
Settlement reached in lawsuit related to draining of 4 GBRA lakes
GUADALUPE VALLEY LAKES, Texas โ A settlement has been reached in one of the court cases regarding Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority and the property owners along the Guadalupe Valley lakes. The GBRA owns the six dams that create the Guadalupe Valley Lakes system and the waters within the lakes. Those lakes include Lake Dunlap, Lake McQueeny, Lake Placid, Meadow Lake, Lake Gonzales and Lake Wood. In August 2019, the GBRA announced that Lake Gonzales, Meadow Lake, Lake Placid and Lake McQueeney would be drained due to concerns over aging dams.
