Another restaurant chain, Friendly's, hits wall in pandemic

The pandemic has hit the restaurant sector very hard, particularly chains like Friendly's that rely on people sitting down at tables. SAN ANTONIO Gregg Popovich has been San Antonios head coach for nearly 25 years, but that reportedly is not stopping the Brooklyn Nets from attempting to lure the Spurs icon to the East Coast. According to The Athletic, the Nets are seriously interested in Popovich as their next head coach and will explore that possibility this off-season. ESPN has also reported that Durant and Irving would want to play for the Spurs head coach. Popovich, 71, just finished his 24th season as the Spurs head coach and indicated after the regular season that he has no plans to retire. New Hurricane Isaias kept on a path early Friday thatโs expected continue on toward our countryโs East Coast by the weekend. Isaias had maximum sustained winds of 80 mph Friday morning and was centered about 15 miles south-southwest of Great Inagua Island in the Bahamas, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said. Phonetically, itโs โees-ah-EE-ahs.โThere are different ways to pronounce Isaias, but for the sake of a named storm, the National Hurricane Center has informed meteorologists this pronunciation will be the standard. A hurricane warning was in effect for the northwestern Bahamas, including Andros Island, New Providence, Eleuthera, Abaco Islands, Berry Islands, Grand Bahama and Bimini. The National Hurricane Center was monitoring two other disturbances Friday morning, both over the tropical Atlantic Ocean.
July Fourth celebration will include East Coast flyovers
WASHINGTON Military planes will conduct flyovers in a handful of major cities along the East Coast as part of this year's July Fourth celebration amid the coronavirus pandemic. From there, the military planes will join with other aircraft participating in the Salute to America" over Washington, D.C. Washington has held an Independence Day celebration for decades. President Donald Trump added to the mix of events last year with a speech and a display of tanks and warplanes. It said the president will deliver remarks, and the ceremony will include music, military demonstrations and flyovers. Trump plans to kick off Independence Day festivities with a showy display at Mount Rushmore the day before.
Florida: 2 dead in the state who tested positive for virus
A 65-year-old man and a 75-year-old man also tested positive Friday, both in Broward County, home to Fort Lauderdale. The stateโs health department said both men have been isolated until public health officials clear them. Officials had previously announced that five Florida residents who had been traveling in China have also been quarantined elsewhere after testing positive for the virus. It is not clear whether state officials will implement any other drastic measures ahead of Florida's busy Spring Break season later this month. Ron DeSantis asked state lawmakers Friday for $25 million for health officials to use immediately in the state's response to coronavirus.
