Sex offender with ties to NE San Antonio wanted for violating court-ordered rules

Lorenso Bustos, 43, required to register as sex offender for life

SAN ANTONIO – It's been nearly 14 years since Lorenso Bustos was convicted of crimes that required him to register as a sex offender. A state website that lists those offenders shows Bustos has failed to do that since 2004, an allegation that has since led to a new criminal charge filed against him.

"In 2003, Bustos was sentenced to time in prison on charges involving indecency with a child through sexual contact and was later ordered to register as a sex offender," said Deputy U.S. Marshal Chris Bozeman.

The Texas Department of Public Safety's sex offender registry site shows Bustos, 43, is required to register as a sex offender for life. It says he registered in July 2003, then verified his address in August 2004. It also lists him as absconded.

Now Bustos has been indicted on a charge of failure to comply with sex offender registration conditions.

He is 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

"His last known place of residence was on the Northeast side of San Antonio," Bozeman said.

If you have any information on his whereabouts, call the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force at 210-657-8500.
