Fugitive sex offender has ties to San Antonio's SE Side

Jose Hernandez, 56, wanted for absconding from supervision

SAN ANTONIO – A convicted sex offender who is required to report his whereabouts to law enforcement officials annually is wanted for failing to do so.

Jose Rodolfo Hernandez, 56, was convicted in 2005 for indecency with a 10-year-old girl. He received an eight-year sentence and was ordered to register as a sex offender for life.

"A warrant was issued for Hernandez's arrest, following an indictment filed with the Bexar County District
Court. The indictment alleged that Hernandez failed to comply with sex offender registration conditions and absconded from supervision," said Deputy U.S. Marshal Chris Bozeman.

The state's sex offender registry site shows Hernandez last reported to the San Antonio Police Department in 2006. It currently lists him as absconded.

Hernandez has black hair and brown eyes. He is 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 235 pounds.

"His last known place of residence was on the Southeast Side of San Antonio," Bozeman said.

If you have any information on Hernandez's whereabouts, call the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force at 210-657-8500.
