Dozens of fireworks-related incidents reported in Bexar County around New Yearโs Eve, Day
Despite tips and recommendations from fire officials about safely handling fireworks around New Yearโs Eve and New Yearโs Day, firefighters responded to dozens of fireworks-related incidents in unincorporated Bexar County and the 26 suburban cities.

Forty-two fires occurred between April 21 and July 26 and stretch across a 25-mile radius around the county. The majority are just grass and brush fires, but a handful have been by homes and structures.

There was hope that hot weather might help keep COVID-19 at bay, but cases ramped up again in July. While weather may play a small role in how COVID-19 spreads, hot, dry weather did not seem to have much effect. A record number of named storms and a record number of landfalling storms were recorded in 2020. Three of the named storms brought impacts to Texas.

U.S. safety regulators said the cars should be parked outdoors until the recall repairs have been made. The recall covers Bolts from the 2017 through 2019 model years, including nearly 51,000 in the U.S. GM said it understands owners could be upset about their cars not being fully functional, and it will address complaints on a case-by-case basis.

SAN ANTONIO โ Two locals are sharing their experience fighting wildfires on the West Coast and hoping to inspire others to go out and help. Hanna Randle, a St. Maryโs University student, is one of several people who traveled to Arizona and Idaho to fight wildfires over the summer. โSeeing the properties get destroyed -- all of that is very sad.โRandle stressed the need for help is there because wildfires are getting more frequent. โGet out there and help,โ Randle said. Deputies make arrests, seek code violations at east Bexar County mobile home park
BEXAR COUNTY, Texas โ Investigators were back out at the Jasper Mobile Home Park, the site of several fires, on Tuesday afternoon to make some arrests. The property on Walzem Road gained so much attention after the Bexar County Sheriffโs Office started a joint investigation with multiple agencies in January 2019 after suspecting arson. Suspicious overnight fire rekindles concerns about safety of east Bexar County mobile home parkDeputies were on the property Tuesday to serve felony arrest warrants and look for code violations. "As a result of those arsons, there was some interference with witnesses on the part of some of the employees at this facility," Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said. The Bexar County Fire Marshalโs Office said it found 55 vacant and unsecured structures that were described as fire hazards.
