San Antonio, while not as exotic, grabbed spot No. 2.

The article starts with the iconic River Walk, which is now 15 miles long thanks to additions that allow leisure activities like biking and kayaking.

The San Antonio Missions are also a big selling point for San Antonio and are the first World Heritage Site in Texas.

Most people are familiar with the Alamo, but it’s officially known as the Mission San Antonio de Valero. This February will mark the 180th anniversary of the infamous battle of the Alamo.

San Antonio isn’t just for adults either; the DoSeum offers three floors of interactive exhibits for children of all ages.

The Pearl is a big draw with tons of eateries and places to imbibe, along with Hotel Emma, the newest addition to this historic area.

Other noteworthy establishments that put San Antonio on Budget Travel’s radar are Hotel Havana and Paramour, a rooftop bar with amazing views of the city.
