Fuel from Pilot gas station causes truck troubles

Flying Pilot J investigating cause of fuel issues

VON ORMY, Texas – Drivers who purchased diesel fuel at the Pilot Travel Center in Von Ormy on Tuesday afternoon are being asked to call the center's customer service department after reported issues with the fuel from the diesel pumps.

A communications manager with Pilot said several trucks started running poorly and some stopped on the lot after they were fueled.

The manager said they are looking into the cause of the problem and released this statement Tuesday evening:

"We first learned of the situation this afternoon when a professional driver notified the general manager of the Pilot Travel Center in Von Ormy, Texas. The general manager then notified our corporate office, and the diesel pumps used to fuel tractor trailers were closed. We immediately started investigating the cause of the issue and are still currently doing so."

If a professional driver purchased diesel fuel for their tractor trailer Tuesday between 2:40 p.m. and 3:50 p.m. CT at the Von Ormy, Texas location, and believes that he or she has been affected, please contact the customer service department at 877-866-7378 with a receipt or credit card number used for the fuel purchase.
