Video: Adorable baby elephant takes first swim at Texas zoo

Video shows month-old Travis taking his first swim at the Fort Worth Zoo

FORT WORTH, Texas – It doesn’t get much cuter than a baby’s first bath.

And when that baby weighs 345 pounds, the cuteness is amplified.

The Fort Worth Zoo’s baby elephant named Travis is now a month old and big enough for his first swim.

In a video shared by the zoo (that you can watch in the video player at the top of this article) Travis bounds into the pool, splashes the water with his trunk and dunks his head.

Travis was born on Feb. 23. According to the zoo, he’s named after William B. Travis, the heroic commander of the Texans who died at the Battle of the Alamo.

You can watch another video from the zoo below as Travis made his public debut on Wednesday.
