SAN ANTONIO – Things are getting real on “The Bachelorette.”In the past few episodes, the men have opened up to Tayshia Adams about their lives and their past. But soon, they will have to bring their families into the equation. In this week’s episode, the contestants learn that they are just one week away from the famous “hometown” dates. During the episode we see more contestants be vulnerable with Adams, including Ben Smith, who admits to attempting suicide in two separate occasions. We also find out who stays and who goes after the infamous two-on-one date.

Normally viewers can expect one or two contestants to share something deep from their past with the lead. During last week’s episode, Ivan Hall and “Bachelorette” Tayshia Adams shared an intimate conversation about George Floyd, the Black Lives Matter movement, and how being bi-racial has impacted their lives. This week, Zac Clark opened up about struggling with addiction, Riley Christian talked about his rocky relationship with his mother, and Ben Smith revealed he has struggled with an eating disorder. 'Bachelorette' and 'Bachelor in Paradise' Renewed by ABC
ABC is signing on for more from the Bachelor franchise. The network has renewed both The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise for additional seasons, ABC Entertainment President Karey Burke announced at the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Monday. The Bachelorette, fresh off of Hannah Brown's season, will return for season 16, while Bachelor in Paradise, which debuts its sixth season on Monday, will return next year for season seven. As Chris Harrison told ET on Monday morning, he and the production team are waiting until closer to the end of the current season of Bachelor in Paradise to reveal the next Bachelor.
