The Judson Rockets varsity football team will forfeit their 44-0 victory over East Central last Friday night after it was discovered that an ineligible player participated in the game.

The inaugural KSAT Pigskin Classic in the Alamodome was the first of its kind in San Antonio with six teams playing in a triple-header to kick off their high school football seasons.

Thousands of high school football fans filled the Alamodome on Saturday for the first game of the season at the first-ever KSAT Pigskin Classic, between the Smithson Valley Rangers and the Reagan Rattlers.

A 34-yard field goal in overtime was the deciding score as the Judson Rockets defeated the Johnson Jaguars 46-43 in Game 2 of the KSAT Pigskin Classic on Saturday afternoon.

The Judson Rockets will face the Johnson Jaguars in the second game of a triple-header in the first-ever KSAT Pigskin Classic on Saturday, Aug. 27, at the Alamodome.

SAN ANTONIO – The University Interscholastic League (UIL) State Executive Committee has turned down an appeal by former Brandeis quarterback Jordan Battles and former Wagner running back L.J. Butler to play football for the Judson Rockets this season. After hearing testimony via Zoom on Tuesday afternoon from the players' parents, athletic directors, principals and both of their former head coaches, the committee determined that both players had transferred to Judson primarily for athletic purposes. Battles enrolled in Judson last February after leading the Broncos to the UIL State quarterfinals in each of the last two years, while Butler transferred in June after developing into one of the Thunderbirds' primary offensive weapons. The District Executive Committee for District 27-6A voted unanimously against both players suiting up for Judson on Aug. 12.

CONVERSE – The only thing that has stopped the Judson Rockets so far is the school’s fire alarm. After a brief intermission, the girls basketball team returned to practice, preparing to defend their Class 6A State title against Duncanville in the state semifinals on Friday night in the Alamodome.

SAN ANTONIO – In District 26-6A play, the Judson Rockets earn a sweep of the night, as both the boys and girls basketball teams top Steele.

The top two teams in KSAT 12's Top 12 meet this Friday night at Rutledge Stadium, as the Judson Rockets and Wagner Thunderbirds prepare to battle for neighborhood bragging rights in the Hammer Bowl.
