Have a ‘roaring’ good time with these clouded leopards
SAN ANTONIO – Ready for a “roaring” good time over spring break? Head on over to Animal World and Snake Farm Zoo in New Braunfels! While you’re there, you can check out this pair of clouded leopards that are just under a year old. Crew from Animal World and Snake Farm Zoo clean up after Hurricane Laura
SAN ANTONIO – After Hurricane Laura swept through Louisiana in August, a disaster response team from Animal World and Snake Farm Zoo in New Braunfels traveled down to the Alexandria Zoological Park on August 28 with a trailer full of supplies, rolled up their sleeves and started picking up the pieces. This was a coordinated effort of the Zoological Disaster Response, Rescue and Recovery team, which is made up of several zoos and wildlife facilities in Texas. After Animal World & Snake Farm Zoo’s initial assessment of the damage, other zoos were called in to help continue the clean up efforts. Where you can see the world’s smallest fox with the biggest ears!
Fennec fox ears can grow to half the size of their body. Fennec foxes are built to take the heat in the North African and Arabian deserts. The large ears help this nocturnal animal locate underground prey and also act like air conditioners by helping to regulate body heat.
