Hein was offered the opportunity to illustrate a childrenโs book titled โDan the Manโ also written by the Selena bookโs author, C. 2 face federal firearms charges in connection with 2019 murder-suicide in Devine
SAN ANTONIO โ A 26-year-old San Antonio man and a 44-year-old Devine woman are facing federal firearms charges in connection with a June 2019 murder-suicide in Devine, federal officials said. The protective order, which was issued in May 2019 after Jaramillo stabbed his intimate partner, Jessica Sanchez, prohibited him from having contact with Sanchez, officials said. According to the indictment, Jaramillo, with Garciaโs help, shot and killed Sanchez on June 30, 2019, using the firearm illegally acquired by Vega. After killing Sanchez, Jaramillo turned the firearm on himself and committed suicide. The case is being investigated as Project Guardian, an initiative started in November 2019 aimed to reduce gun violence and enforce federal firearms laws across the country.
Rural school districts face technological challenges in first week back
DEVINE, Texas โ Two rural school districts in Medina County are relieved the first week of school is behind them. The scenario was very different than what they faced towards the end of the school year when they went remote. โYou have trouble with passwords and logging on and getting knocked off internet access during the week,โ Collavo said. The districtโs roughly 1,000 students are all doing remote learning until after Labor Day, when she says about half of the student population has decided they want to do in-person learning. โYou prepare and prepare and prepare and things still donโt go the way you exactly want them to,โ Collavo said.
