SAN ANTONIO – Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich confirmed on Saturday evening that assistant coach Becky Hammon was not currently with the team due to the NBA’s health and safety protocols.
Hammon, another team staff member and backup forward Drew Eubanks are all under the league’s safety protocols, Popovich said.
The Spurs head coach could not say directly if the three have tested positive for COVID-19, but he believed they would be quarantined for 14 days as per league regulations.
Hammon was not on the bench during the Spurs win Thursday night against the LA Lakers.
The Spurs are in the middle of a five game road trip and will play at Minnesota in back-to-back games this weekend.
