Out-of-control crime like the University of Virginia shootings rises as surely as the sun does. Crime exploded after World War II, but get-tough measures failed so badly we gave up on crime. Our un-enlightened justice system mocks our founders’ “speedy justice” mandate and their effective program of hard labor to prevent and rehabilitate crime. Since the holiday season has ensued, there have been numerous festivities including parades, live music, food trucks and more near the new amphitheater in downtown Edinburg. I learned from news sources that Donald Trump was not audited by the IRS; Trump said many, many times that his returns were audited every year.

An extradition hearing is pending for two men arrested Monday in Brownsville in connection with an Oct. 9 shooting in Tampa Bay Florida that left one man dead and others injured. Josue Clavel, 22, and Damaso Bravo, 32, are being held in a Cameron County jail facility on warrants issued out of Hillsborough County Florida, jail records indicate. According to the warrants, Clavel is wanted for murder, attempted murder, and pre-mediated murder. Bravo is wanted for three counts of aggravated battery bodily harm. The group had $20,000 in cash on them at the time of the arrest.

Joint Base San Antonio to discontinue ‘For Official Business Only’ access to installations
SAN ANTONIO – Joint Base San Antonio will discontinue “For Official Business Only” access to installations and change the Health Protection Condition to Bravo. All Department of Defense ID cardholders will have access to the installation and the ability to vouch for occupants in their vehicles. HPCON Bravo indicates a moderate disease threat and risk of exposure to personnel, and the public health emergency remains in effect on JBSA. Installation fitness centers will also open May 26 to uniformed military members only (Active Duty, Reserve and Guard members) with procedures and limiting numbers in place to better protect and lessen the spread.
