Comal County Tax Office closes temporarily after employee tests positive for COVID-19
NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas The Comal County Tax Office will be closed through at least the end of the week as the building is sanitized and deep cleaned after an employee reported testing positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, according to a press release from city officials. Meanwhile, businesses around New Braunfels and Gruene continue to temporarily shutter their doors as new cases of COVID-19 emerge in the area. 2 popular Gruene restaurants, 1 New Braunfels bakery temporarily close after employees test positive for COVID-192tarts reopened Thursday after a part-time employee at the bakery tested positive earlier this week. Mozies and Gristmill River Restaurant, two popular restaurants in the area, are both still closed after employees at both eateries indicated that they had tested positive for COVID-19. Four new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Comal County on Wednesday, bringing the total to 141, according to the press release.

New Braunfels Two popular restaurants in Gruene and a local bakery in New Braunfels arent taking any chances after employees tested positive for COVID-19. Gristmill River Restaurant & Bar announced on social media that they would be closing temporarily to sanitize and clean the restaurant. They announced on June 3 were closed to clean and sanitize after an employee notified them they tested positive for COVID-19. A posting on social media does not state when they will reopen back up. In New Braunfels, 2Tarts Bakery also closed to do additional cleaning and sanitizing after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

33rd Annual Gruene Music and Wine Fest Arrives This Fall with 100+ Texas Wineries, Craft Brews
click to enlarge Jim FlynnThe 33rd Annual Gruene Music and Wine Fest + Craft Beer Event returns to Gruene's historic district to showcase more than 100 Texas wines, along with local eats, brews and live music performances.The four-day event hosted by Gruene Hall and KNBT 92.1 FM Radio New Braunfels aims to celebrate the best of Texas food, wine and craft beer, while raising funds for the United Way of Comal County. In 2018, the festival reportedly raised more than $150,000 for United Way of Comal County.This year's festivities kick off on Thursday, October 10 and include several curated dinners offering both VIP and General Admission ticket options, wine and beer tastings, and a lineup of local food trucks. Attendees can also choose to purchase separate tickets to the nightly music performances at Gruene Hall with The Bacon Brothers on Thursday, a sold-out Tanya Tucker show on Friday, and the Casey Donahew Band on Saturday.
