Manny Olivo, a special education job coach for SCUCISD, was one of 50 educators across the United States to be selected by the Team TCS Teachers initiative to run in the 50th New York City Marathon, which takes place on Nov. 7.
San Antonio-area schools share plans for cafeteria safety during upcoming school year
KSAT reached out to several school districts after Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD shared their plans for student safety in the lunchroom in a Facebook post on Thursday afternoon. In the North East Independent School District, capacity in the cafeteria will be limited and students will need to practice physical distancing and follow traffic patterns. Students may have meals in designated areas other than the cafeteria so safety protocols can be maintained, according to spokesperson Aubrey Chancellor. Chancellor also shared the districts protocol for health and safety during meal times. Boerne Independent School District has posted signage throughout the schools and in cafeterias directing traffic patterns and encouraging social distancing.
Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD to still hold graduation ceremonies
SAN ANTONIO Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD is moving forward with its three high school graduation ceremonies as scheduled. According to a school district email, Guadalupe County Judge Kyle Kutscher and his emergency management team have evaluated the situation and at this time will not impose an order that limits gatherings of more than 100 people, which Gov. Greg Abbott offered Tuesday to city and county officials in an effort to combat the potential spread of COVID-19. Disgraced SCUCISD board member ordered by judge to pay off $2,100 in unpaid child support
SCHERTZ, Texas Gary Inmon, a disgraced Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD school board member, was recently found to be in contempt of court for failing to pay child support to his ex-wife. Late last month, a judge in Comal County ordered Inmon to begin paying off $2,100 in unpaid support and making timely monthly payments. Inmon was initially ordered to pay child support last June when he was divorced from his wife. The judge also ordered Inmon to pay for his ex-wife's attorney fees.
