SAN ANTONIO – Two people have been charged with murder in connection with a shooting at a Northwest Side motel that happened on St. Patrick’s Day. San Antonio police arrested Douglas Skaggs, 55, and Hayley Gibbens, 23, on Tuesday morning. An arrest warrant affidavit said that police obtained surveillance video from the motel showing both suspects. After they posted images on social media, police said they received a tip identifying Skaggs as the man in the video. It says he also told police that Gibbens helped him by luring Roman to the motel so that he could confront him.

Here’s how San Antonio is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day this year
SAN ANTONIO – Celebrations for St. Patrick’s Day in the Alamo City may not be in full swing due to the pandemic, but some traditions are still being celebrated. This year, we’re just magically turning the river green.”The dye used is non-toxic and approved by the San Antonio River Authority. The St. Patrick’s Day parade and festival had to be cancelled for the second year in a row. Buchanan has seen his share of St. Patrick’s Day parades as The Original was opened in 1987. Each day until St. Patrick’s Day, the Riverwalk Association will use about five gallons of emerald green dye to keep the water green for visitors to enjoy.

San Antonio will continue a St. Patrick’s Day tradition by dyeing the San Antonio River green
SAN ANTONIO – A St. Patrick’s Day tradition will still take place in downtown San Antonio this year. Maggie Thompson, the executive director of the San Antonio Riverwalk Association, said the San Antonio River will turn green for the annual “Dyeing of the River Walk.”Visitors on the River Walk will be able to see the green dye from Saturday, March 13 through Wednesday, March 17 for free, she said. A parade and festival, however, will not take place despite Texas Gov. This is the second year the River Walk Association was forced to cancel the annual events due to COVID-19. Last year, it was abruptly called off as shutdowns began to take place in San Antonio and cases began to rise.
