1 shot during road rage fight on North Side street; SAPD searching for suspect
SAN ANTONIO โ One person was sent to the hospital after he was shot during a road rage incident on the North Side Thursday evening. San Antonio police said the shooting happened around 6:30 p.m. in the 2500 block of MacArthur View near Wetmore Road, just east of the San Antonio International Airport. One driver had cut off another driver, and they both pulled over and got out of their cars. The suspect fled and the injured man was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center in stable condition. Police said the shooting victim, 23, is expected to survive.
Discount art supply store, a โfirstโ of its kind in San Antonio, opens on North Side
SAN ANTONIO โ A new type of thrift shop has opened in San Antonio. B. Kay Richter, who is on the Board of Directors for Spare Parts, told KSAT that it is โthe first store of its kind to openโ in the Alamo City. Supplies for sale include art books, coloring books, crafting supplies, old calendars, old magazines, old photos, art brushes, paint, glue, primer, canvases, crochet supplies and yarn. While the store does not take clothing like a regular thrift store, it does take buttons and fabric, as well as sewing supplies. Spare Parts is located at 13491 Wetmore Road, near Thousand Oaks Drive.
Construction zone where man crashed and died seen as headache by other drivers
SAN ANTONIO โ A North Side construction zone where a driver died after losing control of his car and crashing is seen as a headache by at least one other driver. San Antonio police say a 22-year-old man was driving in the section of that construction zone where five lanes of traffic suddenly are narrowed down to only two. It appears the driver didnโt notice the construction barrels until it was too late, according to one investigator at the scene. (KSAT 12 News)The manโs car veered across all lanes of traffic, jumped a sidewalk and crashed through the backyard fence of a home. So the cones are not really set up correctly,โ Carnevale said, detailing his frustrations with the construction zone.
Driver dies after losing control of car in construction zone, hitting tree, police say
SAN ANTONIO โ A driver heading home on the cityโs North Side died early Friday after losing control of his car in a construction zone and crashing. The man, whose name has not been released yet, was in his 20s, according to San Antonio police. One accident investigator told KSAT he suspects the driver may not have noticed the construction barrels right away as he headed north on Wetmore Road near Maverick Creek shortly before 3 a.m. Although police did not identify him, they say the driver lived in the area. Police shut down Wetmore Road in both directions, between Wurzbach Parkway and Ridge Country, for about two hours while they conducted their investigation.
SAPD: Man shot while driving on Northeast Side
SAN ANTONIO San Antonio police are searching for a suspect after a man was shot while driving Monday afternoon on the citys Northeast Side. Officers were called to Wetmore Road and Wurzbach Parkway shortly before 2 p.m., where they found the victim. Man killed in shooting outside San Antonio hookah lounge identifiedThe man, who is in his 40s, told officers he was driving when someone in a dark-colored pickup shot at him, striking him once in the upper body, police said. First responders took the man to the hospital. Officer Doug Greene said the gunman and the victim may have known each other, and that the shooting was preceded by an altercation between the two mean.
