Couple woke up to fire in their West Side home, firefighters say
SAN ANTONIO โ A fire in a West Side home early Monday morning gave a man and woman a close call with danger. San Antonio firefighters say the entire front side of the home, located in the 400 block of Brandywine Avenue, went up in flames shortly before 6:30 a.m.โThe occupants stated that they just woke up to fire and smoke in the house,โ said Capt. Landon Digby with the San Antonio Fire Department. (KSAT)With their front door blocked by flames, they told firefighters they had only one way out. AdIt ended with the home in shambles, and the couple out on the street.
Man, woman climb out back window to escape house fire, officials say
SAN ANTONIO โ A man and a woman are OK after they escaped a house fire by climbing out a back window early Monday morning, the San Antonio Fire Department said. A man and a woman who live inside the home said they woke to find the fire and then escaped by climbing out a back window. Paramedics checked out both the man and woman at the scene. Fire damages two homes on North Side
SAN ANTONIO โ A fire on the cityโs North Side on Friday left two houses with damage. When the San Antonio Fire Department arrived in the 400 block of Dresden Drive just before 10 a.m., crews found the fire spreading from one home to another, with the fence between the homes on fire. After calling for backup, firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading to surrounding homes. Fire officials said the initial house that caught fire suffered extensive damages while the second house sustained heat damage on the outside. The cause is still under investigation.
Investigators working to determine cause of Northeast Side house fire
SAN ANTONIO โ A fire investigation and arson team are investigating a house fire on the cityโs Northeast Side late Monday night. The fire was called in around 10:30 p.m. in the 4800 block of Parmenter Street, not far from Nacogdoches Road and Thousand Oaks Drive. Firefighters said when they arrived, they found a fire in a bedroom of the house. The fire was contained to one room and damage to the home was minor, fire officials said. The San Antonio Fire Department and San Antonio Police Department both answered the call.
