U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized $182,000 in fentanyl they found in a plastic bucket this weekend. They say a 50-year-old Brownsville man was driving across Veterans International Bridge on Friday in a 2007 Ford sedan. During a secondary inspection officers discovered five packages containing more than 13 pounds of fentanyl. CBP officers seized the drugs along with the car. The suspect was arrested and turned over to the custody of Homeland Security Investigations special agents.

Harold Preston was shot multiple times, including in the head, and died at a hospital, Acevedo said. Officer Courtney Waller was shot in the arm and is in stable condition at a hospital, he said. Acevedo said he expects Manzano to be charged with murder and that police have repeatedly responded to domestic calls at the home. $18 million worth of meth seized at Laredo international bridges
LAREDO, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers in Laredo seized methamphetamine worth an estimated $18 million in two separate incidents over the weekend. The narcotics have an estimated street value of $15,266,414. CBP officers and a canine at the Colombia Solidarity Bridge discovered 139 pounds of methamphetamine in several buckets within a shipment of auto equipment. The drugs have an estimated street value of $2.7 million. The drugs have an estimated street value of $2,784,850.
Police: Texas officers fatally shoot man who shot his wife
IRVING, Texas Police in a Dallas suburb shot and killed a man Saturday after he reportedly shot his wife and opened fire on the officers, a police spokeswoman said. Officers in Irving responded to a call before 10 a.m. from a woman who said her husband shot her, Investigator Ariel Esparza said in a statement. The officers announced themselves while entering the backyard, she said, and then both the man and the officers began shooting. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the woman was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Esparza said. None of the officers involved were hurt.
