Vigil held for man killed during home invasion

James Hernandez Jr., 25, killed Wednesday morning

SAN ANTONIO – Family and friends braved the chilly air Thursday night to remember a man killed during a home invasion the day before.

“He was a beautiful soul. We were robbed (of a) beautiful spirt,” James Hernandez Senior said. “They just took everything from us, and we don't know why. We want answers."

James Hernandez Jr., 25, was killed when police said someone kicked in the door of his apartment, made demands and then killed Hernandez.

During the vigil, people joined in prayer and shared stories.

Very little information has been released, and police said they are still looking for any additional information in the crime.

The Hernandez family said they are planning a BBQ plate sale later this week to help with funeral expenses.
