Crime Stoppers searching for suspect in 2017 slaying of man found dead days after disappearance
SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are searching for anyone involved in the slaying of a man whose body was found near Calaveras Lake four years ago. Ricardo Sanchez was found dead on Feb. 20, 2007, after he was reported missing, according to police. When officers arrived to a driveway on Lee Hall, it appeared someone had sustained a serious bodily injury due to the amount of blood, according to Crime Stoppers. Witnesses at the location then reported Sanchez missing, authorities said. Man arrested for felony warrants after boating, fishing on Calaveras Lake
SAN ANTONIO – A man was arrested while fishing on Calaveras Lake Saturday after Texas Parks and Wildlife game wardens discovered he was wanted on felony warrants by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. According to field notes from Texas Park and Wildlife, game wardens were patrolling Calaveras Lake and stopped an unregistered boat on the water. The man told Texas game wardens that he had been fishing on the lake and he had purchased a one-day fishing license. After a short investigation, officials said they discovered he had been wanted on felony warrants and was arrested and taken to the Bexar County Jail. Man transported to hospital after kayak capsizes at Braunig Lake Park, SAFD says
SAN ANTONIO A couples kayak capsized at Braunig Lake Park, sending a man to a nearby hospital, officials said Tuesday. Firefighters say the couple was on a kayak when they overturned and could not right themselves. San Antonio Fire Department officials said the woman was able to get out of the kayak and surface, but the man was not able to get out. According to an SAFD spokesperson, a passerby on a boat saw the couple in the water and helped save the man. The man was transported to Mission Trails Baptist Hospital after emergency service personnel treated the victim at the scene.
Child injured in accidental shooting near Calaveras Lake is in stable condition, police say
SAN ANTONIO A child injured in an accidental shooting near Calaveras Lake is in stable condition and recovering, according to the Bexar County Sheriffs Office. Deputies received a call for an accidental shooting involving a child in the area. After arriving on scene, officials said the child was alert and responding.
