Spiking energy leads wholesale prices up 0.5% in February

Over the past year, wholesale prices are up 2.8%, the largest 12-month gain at the wholesale level in more than two years. Earlier this week, the U.S. reported that consumer prices rose 0.4% in February, the biggest gain in six months, also because of rising energy prices.
Power outages linger for millions as another icy storm looms
Nearly 3.4 million customers around the U.S. were still without electricity, and some also lost water service. More than 100 million people live in areas covered by some type of winter weather warning, watch or advisory, the weather service said. Weather-related outages have been particularly stubborn in Oregon, where some customers have been without power for almost a week. At the peak of the storm, more than 350,000 customers in the Portland area were in the dark. In Oregon, authorities confirmed Tuesday that four people died in the Portland area of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Ford to cut back F-150 production due to chip shortage
Starting Monday, Ford will cut two shifts at its Dearborn, Michigan, facility, going down to one shift per day. Both plants produce the F-150 pickup truck, Ford's most popular model and part of the F-Series, the top-selling vehicle in the U.S. AdFord isn't alone in cutting back production due to the shortage of chips needed to produce cars. General Motors will have downtime at three of its factories โ one in the U.S, one in Canada and one in Mexico โ due to the chip shortage, starting Feb. 8. Other automakers like Nissan, Fiat Chrysler and Toyota have also been impacted by the chip shortage.

Knowing that her family and friends were safe, a feeling of relief washed over Saab. More than half of that amount was delivered via a FedEx-donated airlift that also included relief supplies from the American Task Force on Lebanon and the Lebanon Relief Project. They just wanted something to immediately give to, they wanted all that pain to basically get out and give something positive,โ Saab said.
