Woman hit, killed trying to cross access road of Loop 410, police say
SAN ANTONIO – A woman was hit and killed while attempting to cross an access road of Loop 410 on the city’s West Side late Monday night, San Antonio police said. The crash happened around 10:20 p.m. in the 6800 block of Northwest Loop 410 near Alamo Downs Parkway, not far from Culebra Road. The woman hit was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman killed has not been identified. The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department and EMS all answered the call.

The vehicle swerved, hit a guardrail and came to a halt on an access road. Police say the driver did not show any signs of intoxication and is not expected to face any charges.
Series of crashes involving pedestrians keeps San Antonio accident investigators busy
SAN ANTONIO – Accident investigators with the San Antonio Police Department have had a busy 12 hour period, investigating at least four different crashes involving pedestrians who they say walked into traffic. Police said a man who was not in a crosswalk attempted to cross the street and was hit by an SUV. Within minutes of that crash, a 51-year-old man also was killed after he stepped out into traffic, attempting to cross the street at Culebra Road and Zarzamora Street. Less than 12 hours later, investigators were at the scenes of two other crashes involving pedestrians. In that case, police say he was walking on the access road near Interstate 35 and Zarzamora when a van hit him.

SAN ANTONIO – A man walking on the access road of Interstate 35 was hit by a van early Thursday morning, San Antonio police said. The incident happened just before 7 a.m. on the northbound access road near Zarzamora Street on the city’s South Side. According to police, a man wearing dark clothing was struck by a van driven by a 65-year-old woman on her way to work. Police said the woman did not see the man until it was too late. The van scooped the man up and carried him about 50 yards before he rolled off when she hit the brakes, police said.
Pedestrian hospitalized after being hit by pickup truck near Medical Center, police say
SAN ANTONIO – A man trying to cross a Northwest Side street was hit by a pickup truck early Thursday morning, San Antonio police said. According to police, the man was attempting to cross the street when he was struck by a pickup truck that was going westbound. Police said the injured man was taken to an area hospital, where he is listed in stable condition. The female driver of the pickup truck did stop to render aid and was not hurt. Two other vehicles crashed into the pickup truck following the initial collision, but neither driver was injured, police said.

2 hospitalized in crash involving truck with tandem trailer and CAT tractor, police say
SAN ANTONIO – Two people were taken to an area hospital following a vehicle collision between a truck with a tandem trailer and a CAT tractor, San Antonio police said Tuesday. The crash happened around 8 a.m. at the intersection of Martin Luther King Drive and Upland Road near the 4200 block on the city’s East Side. According to police, the driver of a white Ford F250 pickup truck with a tandem trailer was driving east on Martin Luther King Drive when the collision with a CAT tractor occurred. The driver and passenger of the CAT tractor were attempting to pull out of a construction site and the passenger was thrown off the tractor, police said. The driver of the F250 had minor injuries and also had to be taken to an area hospital.

SAN ANTONIO – A man in his 20s was hit and killed by a pickup truck late Thursday night, San Antonio police said. According to police, the black pickup truck hit a man that was crossing the street. Authorities said the driver of the pickup truck did stop following the crash and will not face any charges. The name of the man killed has not been released, pending notification to next of kin. The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department, and EMS all answered the call.

Pablo Paul Hernandez, 42, died of blunt force injuries sustained in the incident before 11 p.m. in the 1000 block of Culebra Road, not far from North Zarzamora Street and Cincinnati Avenue. According to police, Hernandez was walking across Culebra Road in a crosswalk but was against the pedestrian signal when he was struck by a pickup truck traveling eastbound. The driver of the pickup truck continued eastbound and failed to stop and render aid, police said. Hernandez was taken to University Hospital by EMS, where he later died.

SAN ANTONIO – A woman in her 60s was hit and killed by a vehicle while attempting to cross a Northeast Side street early Wednesday morning, San Antonio police said. The crash occurred around 6 a.m. on Nacogdoches Road just south of Wurzbach Parkway. According to police, the woman was not in a crosswalk when she was struck by the vehicle. Several witnesses saw the collision and are also talking with police. The name of the woman killed was not released.

White Road. According to police, the unidentified man was struck by a vehicle that did not stop. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said they do not have a description of the vehicle.
