U.S. Reps. Joaquin Castro and Sheila Jackson Lee held a listening session in Uvalde on Monday afternoon, where families of the Uvalde victims and survivors shared their stories. Robb Elementary teacher Arnulfo Reyes and state Sen. Roland Gutierrez also spoke during the listening session. Those who spoke wanted to know how Congress could help and what could be done to prevent a similar tragedy. Several parents have called for gun reform in the wake of the shooting. Some have asked for a federal ban on semiautomatic weapons, while others have asked for a special session to raise the minimum age to buy assault-style rifles
